Quattro-Tech enter a fantastic new partnership agreement with St Ives Town FC

St Ives Town FC are delighted to announce an exciting new Partnership deal with Quattro-Tech Ltd (QT). A major automotive business in the town and area founded in 2013. This is fantastic news for the club to have the support of another really well respected, successful and great St Ives company. Two aspects of the deal will both see QT become the First Team’s warm up top sponsor and also provide their array of services at discounted rates to all club sponsors and season ticket holders. Discounts will be agreed on an individual basis on production of a current season ticket.

Quattro-Tech (QT) is your main dealer alternative for Volkswagon, Audi, SEAT, Skoda and VW commercials, using genuine VAG or original equipment parts to service, repair and maintain your vehicle whilst upholding your manufacturers warranty and service record. QT can offer a range of performance enhancing upgrades for a large number of the VAG vehicles through their performance partners Revo (exclusive partnership in Cambridgeshire who are market leaders in delivering switchable performance re-map software/hardware) and other performance suppliers.

QT offer a highly competitive, personal and direct service. They deliver exceptional value for money, demonstrate vast knowledge and experience, latest equipment and a customer centric approach. This gives QT the edge on competitors.

QT’s car sales arm, Quattro-Tech Cars gives a fantastic buying experience in the used car buying arena. All cars are hand picked by their experts followed by a structured check over by the brand trained technical specialist and an MOT. All designed to give the customer real peace of mind that you are buying a quality used car.

Justin Reason Head Of Operations at QT commented “Supporting local businesses, clubs and charities is important to Quattro Tech and we are proud to partner with St Ives Town FC for the coming year and beyond. As a business QT prides itself on delivering an exceptional customer experience, with high technical quality at a fraction of the main dealer price, this approach has built strong local support for which all at QT are grateful. We hope by supporting our local football club that we are able to support the local community in another way. Although winter is around the corner we are also looking forward to attending fixtures and supporting the team with loud voices.”

Mark Taylor SITFC Commercial Director stated “It is brilliant news for the club to have the backing of such a successful and well thought of local business particularly in such difficult times. We are really looking forward to working with QT and developing a great and fruitful relationship in the coming years.”

St Ives Town FC enters into Lockdown

As many of you are aware St Ives Town FC first team have suffered a outbreak of Co-Vid19, so far 2 Managers and a player have tested positive and we await the results of the other players and staff.

With a game scheduled tonight we were left with no choice but to notify the League that the club will be unable to fulfil the fixture.

We have a duty of care to the players, staff and more importantly our supporters many of who fall into the danger category.

The club’s Board of Directors have voted that the club enters into a complete lockdown of the First Team to ensure that our outbreak is contained, therefore St Ives Town FC will not play any games until Friday 16th October at the earliest.

Fantastic new partnership deal. The White Hart and Seven Wives with St Ives Town FC

St Ives Town FC are delighted to announce an exciting & exclusive new partnership deal with The White Hart and Seven Wives eateries / pubs / bed & breakfast (White Hart only). In these uncertain times it has the potential to both benefit the club massively whilst also providing valuable reciprocal business to both venues. As part of the deal, all club season ticket holders will be entitled to a minimum 15% discount on all drinks purchased at both locations subject to production of a current season ticket. We are also looking at an incentive for visiting away fans who venture into town before games and a number of other initiatives during the course of the season.

Brandon, the owner of both the White Hart and Seven Wives commented  “We’re really pleased to be in a partnership with St Ives Town FC. Myself, Hayley and the staff all follow the club and we endeavour to support them with sponsorship and any other fund raising ventures. Myself & Hayley have also sponsored Tierney Coulson who plays for the Ladies team this season. Tierney’s family all frequent the Seven Wives especially when the sun’s out in which we always welcome along with other families. Both pubs and ALL staff are excited about trying to grow and get through these trying times and with a collaboration/partnership with St Ives Town FC. We can do this by simply supporting each other in what is a miserable 2020 and hope that 2021 can bring all local businesses a brighter future by working side by side.”

Mark Taylor, the club’s Commercial Director stated “This is another great partnership for the club and has the potential to help both ourselves and The White Hart and Seven Wives enormously in what are very troubling times for everyone. Brandon has been very creative in terms of how best to maximise and develop this deal.”

The White Hart – A 500 year old pub is situated in the heart of St ives Town and has been recently taken over by Brandon and Hayley, have some great ideas to make this one of the successful pubs in St Ives. They are extending the courtyard garden and installing a pergola which will be roofed to provide all year round use. The interior which is slightly dated will soon have a new lease of life offering some of the best home cooked foods, tapas and steak nights in town. It has 6 rooms upstairs which are available to rent as room only at the moment, but will be having ensuite installed pre Christmas 2020.

Seven Wives – One of the biggest pubs in St Ives, just outside of the town centre. It has the biggest child friendly beer garden and always a massive hit with families, a real family community hub. Brandon & Hayley have had this pub now for nearly 2 years and had many issues which they came through as a team and community. It’s also renowned for live music, sport and a meeting point for families. This has been acknowledged by putting on family fun days & kids parties (Christmas, Halloween etc). They are looking forward to 2021 by having an enormous screen showing lots of sports including Euro 2021 and  will endeavour to put on a massive show for the community of St Ives.

Cambridge Sensotec renew shirt sponsorship

St Ives Town FC are very proud and delighted to confirm renewal of their great partnership deal with Cambridge Sensotec Ltd as the First Team Home kit sponsor. This has played a crucial role in the club’s ambition to continue consolidating at Step Three and development as a whole. It is also fantastic news that in such uncertain times Cambridge Sensotec have shown such amazing support which helps massively in underpinning the club’s future in the face of this terrible pandemic.

SITFC Commercial Director Mark Taylor commented ‘We have had Cambridge Sensotec as a great partner/supporter for many years now and with all the current very challenging economic/financial and health issues that everyone is having to face. It is brilliant news that they are able to carry on providing the critical foundations for the club to continue to operate in its current  structure.’

Mark Swetnam Cambridge Sensotec’s Manging Director added “We are delighted to be able to continue our first team shirt sponsorship deal with St Ives Town FC for a third consecutive season, and the brand new first team shirt design looks absolutely fantastic!  It goes without saying that everyone is having a tough year with Covid-19 and sports clubs have been hit particularly hard with the lock-down rules.  Non-league football needs financial and moral support more than ever now and we are honoured to be able to help a little.  We are thrilled that Ricky has been able to add quality players to his squad during the lock down, and the Ives now look stronger than ever in preparation for the new season.  We would like to wish Ricky and St. Ives Town FC every success for the 20/21 season and look forward to seeing everyone old and new at the ground soon.  Up the Ives!”

Richards joins the Ives

The club are delighted to announce the signing of centre forward Marc Richards.

Marc finished last season at Yeovil Town where he scored 3 goals in 7 appearances after joining from Cambridge Utd. The experienced striker has made almost 600 league appearances over a successful career which includes three promotions.

Marc, who’s previous clubs include Northampton Town, Barnsley, Port Vale, Chesterfield, Swindon and Cambridge United is a brilliant addition to the Football Club. The signing is testament to the hard work and commitment from the management and club as a whole.

Manager Ricky Marheineke had this to say on the signing.

“As soon as I knew Marc may be an option it was a no brainer to do everything we could to make it happen. It’s a fantastic signing. Marc is not only going to lead by example in the way he plays but his experience and leadership will be a massive boost for the squad.

Myself and the staff have worked really hard to ensure we got this deal done and we can now look forward to having Marc involved and trying to kick on this season. Marc turned down more lucrative offers from a team in our league and the leagues above to join us in our quest for success. It’s great Marc has brought into our vision and what we are trying to achieve. This is a huge compliment to everyone involved with the club”

Please join me in welcoming Marc to the Club and we all wish you an enjoyable and successful spell.

Chairman’s Update – 1 August 20

CHAIRMAN’S UPDATE – 1 AUGUST 20

During the last couple of months we have all faced challenging times on a personal and work related level. Hopefully the worst of the pandemic is over but there is still a risk to all of us so we must follow the social distancing rules.

I would now like to keep you updated on the health of the club. From a financial point of view the club has remained in a good position. We have taken advantage of applying for all the available grants and I’m glad to report that we have been successful in all of them.

The club and clubhouse has remained ‘mothballed’ and we have had a number of working party days where up to 20 supporters/staff have attended to help out by making the clubhouse and ground a better place for you all to visit. Many thanks to you all that have given their valuable time to the club.

Our academy continued to operate with the scholars working from home on their education part of the course with Lloyd and Bully overseeing them to ensure they were able to complete this year’s programme.

You will have read that Bully made the decision to step down as assistant manager so that he can concentrate on his full time role in the club academy. He will still be around to help the first team if required. Ricky has appointed Mitch Austin as a replacement for Bully and we welcome him to WWR.

Ricky has been actively working on player selection for this coming season and has been successful in signing some very experienced players who have played at our level and higher to complement the existing players that will remain at St Ives Town. Full details can be found on the web site or via social media.

I previously informed you of the clubs ambitions to install a 3G pitch and redevelop the club house at WWR. The Board has agreed that Paul, Mark and I will temporarily cease having any involvement in the day to day running of the club which will enable us to concentrate fully on the redevelopment.

We invited three companies to quote to carry out the installation of the new 3G pitch. All three have visited WWR and we are now collating their responses and analysing their quotes.  We have also invited a number of floodlight companies to quote for the installation of new LED floodlights. We hope to appoint the successful companies in the autumn to allow work to commence at the end of the new season.

You will have read in the press that non-league football can start under strict government guidelines.  The summary of this is as follows;-

Friendlies can be played during the month of August behind closed doors.  Friendlies can be played in September which supporters are allowed to attend (Subject to government and FA final approval)

Our season in the Southern League is due to commence on Saturday 19th September and in order to allow all the games to take place it has been extended to 8th May 2021.  The FA Cup is due to start on the 1st September. This year it will be one game of 90 minutes followed by a penalty shoot out. There will be no replays or extra time.

We should enter the FA Cup at the First Qualifying round on 22nd September. We should also enter the First Qualifying round of the FA Trophy on 26th September.

The Southern League has decided to suspend the League Cup for the 2020-2021 season to allow all the League games to be played.

There are strict government guidelines regarding the return of football for the safety of us all. Social distancing will be in force. Anyone entering the club house will be required to give their name and telephone number for track and trace reasons. There will be a queuing system at the bar and a separate in and out entrance to the club house.  There will also be a reduced menu at the café bar.

In the interest of everybody’s safety can I please request that you all to adhere to these guidelines as these are in place to protect all that enters St Ives Town FC.

The guidelines also state that we need to have a Covid 19 Officer – Marina Howlett has been appointed and a Covid Health & Safety Officer – Nigel Howlett has been appointed.  Can you please follow their instructions when in the ground.

Ricky has agreed the following friendlies of which, unfortunately, are all to be played behind closed doors unless the Government changes its ruling.

Saturday 15th August – Hayes & Yeading (h) 3pm

Tuesday 18th August – Northampton Town (h) 7.30pm

Saturday 22nd August – St Neots Town (h) 3pm

Mitch Austin appointed as Assistant Manager

Following the news of Bully Adams departure as assistant manager, we are pleased to bring you the news of his replacement.

We can confirm that Mitch Austin will take up the position with immediate effect and joins up with manager Ricky Marheineke as preparations for next season continue.

Austin, 32, has had spells managing in the United Counties League with Sileby Rangers Bugbrooke and Rothwell Corinthians. Mitch also spent the 2017/18 season with Kettering Town FC as assistant to Marcus Law where they reached the play off semi finals, losing to eventual play off winners Slough.

Manager Ricky Marheineke had this to say:

“I’m really pleased to have Mitch on board. It was important to get someone in that I trust. He’s very loyal and hard working. Mitch has grafted in the UCL with limited resources and been very successful. He will bring some fresh ideas, a different vision and a winning mentality. He deserves this opportunity and I’m very excited to see how far we can take the club together”

Please join me in welcoming Mitch to the club and we wish you success in your role.

Bully steps down from first team duties

The club can confirm that Craig ‘Bully’ Adams has made the difficult decision to step down from his role as first team assistant manager.

Following a conversation with the manager on Wednesday evening, Bully confirmed he will continue working at the Football Club but wishes to focus all of his time and attention on his Academy Managers role to help grow the club beneath the first team.

Manager Ricky Marheineke said “I would like to thank Bully for all his hard work and loyalty over the past two seasons. We’ve had lots of great moments and special occasions during our time together and many that will long live in the memories for myself and our supporters. Although it wasn’t what I was expecting, I respect Bully’s decision and now look forward to a close working relationship with him as we look to improve the transition for players from our Academy into the first team”

The recruitment process for a new assistant manager is well underway and we will bring you news as soon as we have it.
