St Ives Town continue their league action on Saturday as they host Nuneaton Borough at the Quattro-Tech Westwood Road.
The Ives go into the game not in the best of form in the league, but will be boosted by the midweek 6-0 victory over Huntingdon Town in the Hunts Senior Cup. That victory came after a defeat the previous Saturday at home to Rushall Olympic.
In that game, new signing Ravi Shamsi made his debut and impressed as did defender Charlie Johnson who also made his first appearance for the Ives since re-joining the club from Bury Town.
Introducing the visitors….
The Ives will face a tough task against a Nuneaton side who currently sit second in the table, nine points behind leaders Tamworth. Nuneaton have won seven times this season, five at home and two away. Their last match was a 1-1 draw at home to Hitchin Town on Tuesday night. The form of the visitors has hit the buffers slightly of late and arrive having not won in the league since 4 October when they beat Bedford Town. In that run of form Nuneaton have drawn three matches in the league, and lost one against lowly AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
Star Man…
Look out for striker Matt Stenson. Having signed from FC Halifax Town in the summer, he has found the net on seven occasions so far for Boro this season. He was also formerly with Leamington, AFC Telford United and Solihull Moors.
