Match Preview – Tamworth v The Ives

The games continue to come thick and fast for St Ives Town as they make the trip to league leaders Tamworth on Tuesday.

The match comes just three days after the Ives lost at promotion chasing Leiston.  The 1-0 defeat was a tough one for the Ives as they created a number of chances and on another day they would have come away with at least a share of the points.  Missing from the game at Leiston were both Myles Cowling and Nabil Shariff.  Boss Ricky Marheineke will be hoping that one or both will be available for selection in what is sure to be a tough away fixture.

INTRODUCING TAMWORTH

The hosts are currently five points clear at the top of the table and have lost only once at home all season.  That came against Coalville at the end of August.  It was Coalville who inflicted the last defeat on the Lambs and this was on 7 January.  Since then Tamworth hit nine past Hednesford and on Saturday won 3-1 at Basford.

The star man for Tamworth is unquestionably Dan Creaney.  The striker is the league leading scorer and on Saturday made his 100th appearance for the club and celebrated by scoring twice in their victory over Basford.
