Match Preview & Squad Details – AFC Rushden & Diamonds v St Ives Town

AFC Rushden & Diamonds FC v St Ives Town FC

The Buildbase FA Trophy 1st Qualifying Round – Saturday 27 October 3pm

Since our last meeting 28 days ago, the 2 clubs have had contrasting fortunes. R&D are unbeaten in their last 4 league games (won 2 & drawn 2), whilst the Ives have been defeated in all 4 games and will go into this match as underdogs.

On the squad front, other than Jarvis Wilson who is unavailable for selection, Ricky has a full squad to choose from.

Should the score be level after 90 minutes, the tie will go to a replay at WWR on Tuesday 30 October 7:45pm k.o.

As this is a FA competition AFC R&D have advised of the following alcohol rules that will be in place for this game.

1.                   No alcohol may be consumed pitch side at any time;
2.                   The Main & Hospitality Bars will close and cease serving from 2:45pm until the final whistle of the game when they will reopen;
3.                   Prior to 2:45pm appointed stewards will be in place by the main bar doors to prevent any alcohol being taken out of the bar areas to ensure Point 1 is adhered to;
4.                   We have two food outlets within the ground which will provide soft drinks only throughout the game; and
5.                   Stewards will be on duty at the turnstiles and may carry out checks to ensure no alcohol is brought into the ground.

Please note that there is not a supporters coach arranged for this match.

Parking in the immediate area of the ground is confined to on street parking within residential areas. Consequently, we would respectfully ask visitors to the ground to park considerately and ensure residents are not adversely affected, road ways are kept clear and not to park on grass verges. Ideally, we would suggest making use of the free parking in the town centre and then walking the short distance to the ground.

There are no public parking spaces at the ground other than 2 disabled spaces. Cycle parking is provided.

Walking directions from Rushden town centre to Hayden Road: The ground is only 10 minutes’ walk from St Mary’s Church, nearby car parks and bus stops in the centre of Rushden. We would recommend supporters make use of the town centre facilities and walk the short distance to the ground. Newton Road starts in the town centre near St Mary’s Church so all you have to do is walk up the hill with Lidl and Rushden Amateur Sports Club on your left. After you pass a small garage with a “Fina” totem pole turn left onto Cromwell Road and the ground will be in view.
