Match Preview: Coalville v St Ives

St Ives Town are scheduled to return to league action on Tuesday evening as they make the trip to Coalville Town.

IVES TRAVEL LOOKING FOR POINTS

The Ives had a blank Saturday following the postponement of their fixture at Stourbridge meaning that their last league action was back on 23 October when they beat Royston Town courtesy of a last gasp winner from Nathan Njoku. That result was the start of an uptick in results as the Ives went on to beat Marine in the FA Trophy and Eaton Socon in the Hunts Senior Cup. Due to the lack of league fixtures, it does mean the Ives have dropped a couple of places down the table and are currently one off the bottom, so a win against Coalville would be much needed as they look to claw themselves out of the bottom four.

INTRODUCING COALVILLE

The challenge ahead of the Ives will be a difficult one as they take on a Coalville side who netted 15 goals in their previous two league games. A 9-0 hammering of Berkhamsted was followed by a 6-0 drubbing of Long Eaton United. Like the Ives, Coalville progressed through to the second round of the FA Trophy following a victory against Alvechurch. Recent results for the hosts are in stark contrast to how they started the season as they began the campaign with some indifferent form, but are now arguably heading in the right direction as they currently sit 10th in the table with games in hand on those around them and will stay fancy their chances of mounting a promotion challenge after narrowly missing out last season.

STAR MAN

Tim Berridge. The striker is second in the league leading goalscorers this season having netted 10 goals so far.
