Ives v Nuneaton: Match Preview

St Ives Town welcome Nuneaton on Saturday to the Quattro-Tech Westwood Road as the hosts look to make it three home wins on the bounce.

Kettering and Leiston have been put to the sword in the last two home games with the Ives scoring 11 goals in the process and not conceding any.

IVES TEAM NEWS

For the match against Nuneaton, the Ives look set to be without the services of influential midfielder, Myles Cowling who also didn’t feature in the win against Leiston last Saturday. Fellow midfielder, Dan Barton will be in the starting line-up as he looks for more goals after opening his account last weekend. Meanwhile, Greg Kaziboni, Khris Oti and Torin Ntege will compete for a start to partner Jonny Edwards up front.

INTRODUCING NUNEATON

Nuneaton arrive in 12th position, two points above the Ives. Borough have improved as the season has progressed, but in recent weeks have had a dip in form having not won in the league since 28 November when they recorded a 2-0 victory over Kettering. Despite not recording a victory of late, they have held promotion and play-off challengers, Leamington and Hitchin to a draw in their last two games.

THE REVERSE FIXTURE

It was Nuneaton who the Ives recorded their first victory against in the second game of the season. A Brandon Njoku goal was enough for a 1-0 win.
