‘It is with extreme sorrow that the club announce the tragic passing of Carl after an heroic five year battle against a very serious illness. Carl was a great supporter of the club and a dear friend to everyone who knew him.

In his younger years he was a talented sportsman playing both cricket and football for the likes of Hemingford and Elsworth, together with also having a very active role in the running of these clubs for many years. He was very much a leader in terms of socially, always organising get togethers, band nights and being very supportive of other people doing the same. He forged a very successful career with Akzo Nobel and most importantly was a great family man with a lovely family who our hearts go out to.

Carl will be sorely missed by all of us but will forever live on in our memory.

As a tribute to Carl’s life the club will be holding a minute’s applause before our home game against Royston on Boxing Day, Kick Off 1PM.’
