St Ives can confirm that two further players from last season have signed for the forthcoming campaign. Greg Kaziboni and Enoch Andoh established themselves as fans favorites’ during their first year at the club. So, everyone is delighted that they will once again be at the Quattro-Tech Westwood Road for another season.
Meanwhile, manager Ricky Marheineke has added two new signings. First is 24-year-old Portuguese winger Tiago Nassunculo. Tiago has joined the Ives from Southern League Premier Division rivals Barwell where he made 31 appearances last season scoring three goals. He had spent the previous two seasons at Redditch United where he was also a regular for the Reds. His previous clubs include Peterborough Sports and Spalding United.
The second new signing is defender Aaron Smith. Aaron is a local lad who started his footballing journey with Mildenhall Town where his performances earned him a chance at Peterborough United. After a season with the Posh he was released and went on to join Ives local rivals St Neots Town where he has been a regular for the past couple of seasons. Now looking to make a step back up the football ladder he has arrived at the Quattro-Tech Westwood Road as a very solid defender that can play on both right and left sides and has a very impressive long throw in his armoury.
A reminder that the Ives start their league programme with a home fixture against Mickleover next Saturday, 5 August with a 3:00pm kick-off.
