St Ives Town head to Derbyshire on Saturday as they make the trip to Long Eaton United. It’s the third successive Saturday that the Ives have been on the road and they will be hoping to add another three points to their tally following previous weekend victories at Royston and Alvechurch.
IVES TEAM NEWS
The Ives make the trip having not played since last Saturday and boss Ricky Marheineke will be looking to the same players who recorded the excellent result at Alvechurch to do more of the same this weekend. In that game, Luke Harris started at right back in favour of Paddy Casey whilst Jake Hutcings continued to impress alongside Jordan Williams at the heart of the Ives defence. Both Jonny Edwards and Theo Alexandrou look set to lead the attacking options as the Ives go looking for a double after comfortably beating the hosts in the reverse fixture back in December.
INTRODUCING LONG EATON
The Ives make the trip favourites to get the points against a Long Eaton side who have found this season a struggle, with the majority of the campaign seeing them prop up the table. However, recent results have seen the hosts look to finish the season on a high and this was certainly the case last weekend when they secured a 0-0 draw at home to leaders Needham Market. Prior to the point against Needham Market, they have taken a point off Stourbridge, Coalville and Leamington so will go into the game four games unbeaten, a run that has seen them move off the bottom of the table, albeit still 16 points from safety.
