Match Preview: Berkhamsted v Ives

St Ives Town face a trilogy of matches where they will be looking for points as they attempt to haul themselves away from the relegation zone. The first of those games comes on Saturday when they make the trip to Berkhamsted. What follows are two home games against Barwell on Monday night and bottom side Long Eaton United next Saturday.

IVES TEAM NEWS

The Ives make the trip to Berkhamsted on the back of defeat in the FA Trophy at Aveley last weekend. The 2-1 reverse was harsh on the Ives as they looked set to record victory against the National League South high flyers, only to concede two late goals. During that game, the Ives lost the services of defender Ben Mensah with injury whilst Dan Barton and Myles Cowling were substituted late on. Ives fans will be hoping that all three will available to play a part in the game tomorrow.

INTRODUCING BERKHAMSTED

It’s been a difficult first few months of the season for Berkhamsted. The Comrades are at this level after winning the Southern League Central Division last year by 19 points. This season they have just won one game and that was against Nuneaton on the opening day of the season. They have drawn seven and lost ten. Berkhamsted sit one off the bottom of the table with ten points. The low point of the season for them came in a 9-0 hammering in a league match against Coalville. In the FA Cup they were knocked out by AFC Totton and Potters Bar defeated them in the FA Trophy.
