St Ives Town Football Club can today confirm that striker Jonny Edwards has signed for Kettering Town. Jonny joins the Poppies for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old joined the Ives in the summer of 2022 from FC Romania and instantly found form scoring 26 goals in his first season. During that campaign, he was part of an Ives team that reached the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup for the first time before bowing out against Edwards’ former club, FC Halifax.

But it was last season that Edwards’ goalscoring exploits hit the headlines as he finished the campaign with 30 league goals despite being sidelined for the opening couple of months.  His goals which included four in one game against Mickleover ensured that he finished the season as top scorer for the division.

The club would like to place on record their thanks for what Jonny has done for St Ives Town over the last two years.  He has provided everyone with several memorable moments and we wish him all the very best for the future.
