The eagerly anticipated Emirates FA Cup Third Qualifying Round tie between St Ives Town and Kettering Town takes place on Saturday afternoon.
The prize is a place in the final qualifying round, a stage that the Ives have only reached once before which was two years ago when they were eliminated by Halifax.
If the Ives are to get to the fourth qualifying round once more, then they will have their work cut out against a Kettering side who impressed when they visited the Quattro-Tech Westwood Road earlier this month. That match ended in a 2-1 victory for the Poppies, coming from a goal behind after Greg Kaziboni gave the Ives the lead.
The Ives go into the game following a 3-2 win over Bromsgrove Sporting last Saturday. Amaru Kaunda getting the late winner for the Ives, which gave them their first away victory in the league all season. To get to this stage, the Ives have beaten Harpenden and Berkhamsted.
Kettering arrive after securing a 2-0 victory over league leaders Stamford on Tuesday evening, a result that has moved them up to second in the PitchingIN Southern League Premier Division Central table, two points off the pace. To get to this stage of the competition, Kettering have beaten Stafford Rangers and Cleethorpes Town.
