St Ives Town progressed through to the next round of the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday night courtesy of a 4-1 victory over Royston Town.
Ives took the lead on the quarter of an hour mark and the score stayed that way until half-time. It took a penalty in the opening stages of the second period for the Ives to extend their lead. Their was a flurry of goals towards the end of the match which saw the Ives net a third before Royston pulled one back but the Ives got a fourth to make the game safe and progress through to the first qualifying round of the competition.
The draw for the first qualifying round has yet to take place, but the matches will be week commencing Monday 16 September.
