New management team announced for the Ladies Development side

Following the announcement that Lisa Trigg was standing down as Ladies Development team manager at the end of last season, we are delighted to announce James Seymour (above left photo) as the new manager for 2019/20. James joins the club with lots of experience both as a player and a coach, and will play a huge part in the continued growth and success of St Ives Town Ladies. Also joining the Development team as assistant manager is Neil Martin (above right photo). Neil is returning to the club after a couple of seasons away, having originally been assistant to Darren Marjoram with the Ladies 1st team.

Following these appointments, Ladies 1st team manager Darren Marjoram had the following words

“We are delighted to have secured James as the new Development team manager. He is someone that I have tried to bring on board on previous occasions, so I’m very happy to have him joining us at this exciting time for female football. James has already overseen a few training sessions and shares our philosophy of developing players who are capable of playing in the first team. I look forward to working closely with James in the coming seasons. Neil re-joins the club after a couple of years away and he knows exactly how everything runs. Coupled with his excellent knowledge of female football in the area, Neil will be another big asset to the team. It was vital to have the right people on board, and with James and Neil in place we believe we have the strongest coaching team possible to continue the excellent work of Lisa Trigg over the precious two seasons”

St Ives Town FC announce Omegatour.co.uk as new Logistical Partner

St Ives Town FC are delighted to announce omegatour.co.uk as its new logistical partner. After several months of discussions and negotiations it became apparent that Omega’s innovative approach and thought process offered a ground breaking solution to what has been a problematic area to the club for a number of years. Omega will now provide logistical support across the whole club via use of their coaches and mini buses.

Mark Taylor, St Ives Town’s Commercial Director commented ‘This deal is fantastic news for the club, not only are Omega providing a great all round service but the way it has been financially structured means that an area that has been a constant drain on resources in terms of time, effort and money has been dramatically improved’.

Paul Reason, Omega Tour’s Managing Director stated ‘I have had ideas and a vision for a local coach company for a number of years which has now become a reality. I am very pleased and excited to be able to offer advice/support and help to my local club together with the wider community. I wish the club all success for the new season and the future’.

The Ives sign defensive player Owen Wallis

The club are delighted to announce the signing of Owen Wallis.

Local lad Wallis worked his way through the youth ranks at Norwich City and becoming captain of the U23 side before being released this summer. He had a short spell at Tamworth making his debut for the Lambs at WWR on the opening day of the season before being released to join the Ives. He made his Ives debut on Saturday in the 1-1 drew against Needham Market coming on as sub in the 64th minute.

He is equally well suited to being in the centre of defence or in a defensive midfield role.

We wish Owen a happy and successful stay at the club.
