We will be welcoming representatives from the local charity “Scotty’s Little Soldiers” this Saturday. This charity is dedicated to supporting the children of men and women killed whilst serving in the British Armed Forces. Army Widow Nikki Scott set up the charity in August 2010 to help the children our fallen heroes leave behind after her own husband Corporal Lee Scott was sadly killed in Afghanistan in July 2009 leaving behind her and their two young children. Collections will be made during the game so please donate generously. Further details about the charity can be found by clicking the website link here > www.scottyslittlesoldiers.co.uk
In addition and a fitting follow on connection, we will be holding a one minute silence before the kick-off as as a mark of respect for Remembrance Day.
On to the match…
“The Ives” have suffered some misfortune in recent games, with some scorelines that do the actual games an injustice!!!! With two very unfortunate heavy defeats, sandwiched by a very welcomed 3-0 victory over Barton Rovers, we have had a mixed bag of results of late. Regardless of the results, performances have been very positive and show the team’s determination and togetherness. “The Ducks”, presently sitting in 11th spot in the league, 3 points ahead of “The Saints” have not been enjoying the ride of late also. October being a month to forget, losing 6 in 7 games in all competitions. The 3-1 win over Uxbridge last Saturday suggesting a possible turning point?
