The 8th annual Golf Day was held at Pidley and 17 teams took part in a Texas Scramble competition
The weather conditions were testing but considering the early morning forecast could have been a lot worse, the course was in fine condition and a good day was had by all.
We had our first female entrant Lynne King who outshone all other competitors on the 15th by winning the longest Drive.
We also had unfortunately our first casualty Rob Beasley who spent Friday night in hospital following a freak accident on the 13th. We wish him a speedy recovery.
The main competition was keenly contested with only an 8 shot spread covering all the teams. The winners of the various competitions can be seen on the attached schedule.
We had 17 sponsors with 12 holes sponsored. Each of the winners for longest drive received a box of ProV1s.
My thanks to the above Sponsors for their generosity to Shelley for organising the raffle to Steve, Tracy and Bar staff for the buffet to Tim Egan for preparing the programme to Wozza for dealing with the cards and finally Reaso for donating prize money.
My thanks also to Dave Milburn at Pidley for taking out the pin markers on the day and providing the prizes and everybody who provided a prize for the raffle.
I would also like to thank all the players of varying ability who took part. I would stress that this is a Fun Day which raised £1735 (ignoring raffle and bar takings) for the Club’s coffers.
The next competition is at Bar Hill on 12 September.
