Ladies & Colts Round Up – 7 Jan

A mixed bag of results for the Sunday sides

The Ladies 1st team did their championship claims no harm at all with an excellent 4-2 win over current leaders Netherton United Ladies.

Georgia Stancombe grabbed a brace with Hannah Seymour-Shove & Katherine Speed collecting a goal a piece.

Ellie Brown, Hannah Seymour-Shove & Katherine Speed were jointly awarded ‘Player of the Match’.

Ladies Manager Darren Marjoram had the following to say –

Fantastic performance from St Ives Town Ladies today on a difficult pitch to beat the league leaders 4-2. Most pleasing was the desire they had to see the game out at the end when legs were tired. Netherton are a good side. Not many teams will get anything from them!

This result leaves the Ladies in 2nd place, 9 points behind Netherton, but with 4 games in hand.

A bad day as knocked out of the cup losing 2-1. Played most of the 2nd half with 9 players, losing 1 with a long term injury….but very proud of the boys and the heart and fight they showed. Hurry back George.
