Round Up – 22, 24 & 25 November

Thursday 22 November

The U18s came agonisingly close to picking up at point at Holbeach. However 2 late goals gave the hosts all three points.

The Ives drew 2-2 in an entertaining game against Banbury United at WWR.

Sunday 25 November

The Ladies 1st team maintained their unbeaten record in the ERWFL Division1 with an 8-0 victory at WWR over Bishops Stortford Ladies. The goal scorers were Tierney Coulson x4, Emily Smith x2, Georgia Stancombe & Katie Stancombe.

The Ladies Development team won 3-2 (after extra time) against rivals Haverhill Rovers Ladies in the Cambs Division 1 Cup. Emilee Steel scored 2 and Penelope Ford scored the other.

The U16 played well at Biggleswade Town in the EJA Green Division, however they ultimately lost 1-2. Mykov scored the Ives goal.

The U15 won 4-1 at home to Newmarket Town to move to the top of the EJA Green division. Manager Brett Fairholm said of the performance “A great all round team display and a great game to watch.”

Saturday 17 November

The Ives record their first win since 25 September with a 2-0 win over Halesowen Town.

Sunday 18 November

The Ladies 1st team Invitational Cup game at home to Peterborough ICA Sports was called off late on as their opponents were unable to raise a team. The Cambs FA have awarded the tie as a home win and the Ladies advance to the next round.

The Ladies Development side were rampant in the morning kick off as they hit double figures with a 10-1 victory at 3rd place Cambridge Rangers to keep them level with Haverhill Rovers at the top of the Cambs Championship South. The goals came from Fran Chapman x4, Megan Stow x3, Jade Carpenter x2 & Connie Hornibrook.

In the EJA League Brown Division the U16 lost 1-4 in a local derby at Godmanchester Town.

The U15 enjoyed a 2-1 victory over Needham Market in the EJA Green Division.

The U14 were beaten by Bury Town in the EJA Brown Division.

The U13 kept their unbeaten record in the Royston Crow League with a 1-1 draw at Plantation Youth.

The Ives went down 0-2 against in-form King’s Lynn.

Sunday 11 November

The Ladies 1st team had a convincing 9-0 victory over lower league Riverside Ladies in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Invitational Cup. The goals came from Hannah Seymour-Shove x3, Francesca Worrall x3, Jade Carpenter, Stephanie Ransome & Emily Smith.

The Ladies will now play Peterborough ICA Ladies in the 2nd round scheduled for next Sunday 18 November.

The U16s produced a superb performance today including goal of the season from Riley Barratt. Ben Smith grabbed the other goal to beat Takeley 2-0 in the EJA Brown Division.

The U15s lost 1-3 at Haverhill Rovers in the EJA Green Division.

The U14s Challenge Cup game at Grays Athletic was postponed for the second time.

Round Up – 3rd, 4th & 5th Nov

Saturday 3 November

The Ives lost their 7th game in a row with a 0-2 defeat at home to in-form Stratford Town.

Sunday 4 November

The Ladies 1st team kept up their unbeaten record in the ERWFL Division 1 with a 4-0 win over Hatfield Peverel Ladies at WWR. The goals came from Harriet Ford, Georgia Stancombe, Katie Stancombe & Tierney Coulson. Captain Hannah Seymour-Shove was awarded ‘Player of the Match’.

The Ladies Development side also won with a 6-1 scoreline at home to Burwell Tiger Ladies in the Cambs Championship South Division.

The U16s enjoyed a 5-0 win at home to Kempston Rovers in the EJA Brown Division with a hat-trick from Ben and 1 a piece from Ollie & Mykov.

The U15s went to Norfolk in the EJA Green Division against a big strong Wroxham side and came away with a 3-3 draw after 2 Goals from Harry Holman and 1 from Tom Smith.

The U14s went out the Hunts County Cup at the 2nd round stage after suffering 1-7 defeat at Feeder FC.

The U13s advanced to the next round of the Hunts County Cup, although no football was played as they were awarded a walkover against Hampton Sports Navy.

Monday 5 November

The U18s kept up their good run of form with a 5-0 win at home to March Town United in the Thurlow Nunn  Youth League West Division.

Saturday 27 October

The Ives fell at the first hurdle of the FA Trophy going down 1-2 at AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Sunday 28 October

The Ladies 1st team progressed to the next round of the ERWFL League Cup after coming from 2-4 down to win 5-4 in a pulsating game at Hoddesdon Town Owls Ladies. Tierney Coulson bagged 4 of the goals and a Georgia Stancombe penalty completed the scoring. The win was overshadowed though by a dislocated jaw for Ellie Brown just before halftime.

The U15 also progressed in the EJA Challenge Cup at home to Stowmarket Town on the 3G at the Outdoor Complex. It was 1-1 at full time thanks to an Alfie Lowe goal. The game went to extra time with no further score. It was then on to penalties with 2 fantastic saves from George Driver to win the penalty shoot out 3-2.

The Ives were well beaten in a 1-4 defeat at Rushall Olympic.

Sunday 21 October

The Ladies Development side recorded an excellent 3-1 win over current leaders Haverhill Rovers Ladies in the Cambs Women’s Championship South. They are now hot on their heels in 2nd place, 3 points behind and having played a game less.

Hannah Seymour-Shove bagged a brace and Fran Chapman scored the other. The whole team was awarded ‘Player of the Match’

The U13s maintained their 100% win record in the Royston Crow league win a superb 6-1 victory over Baldock Town Templars.

The Ives first ever meeting with Alvechurch resulted in a 1-2 defeat.

The Ladies 1st team maintained their unbeaten record in the ERWFL Div 1 with a 4-1 victory at Ipswich Wanderers LFC. Goalscorers – Tierney Coulson, Georgia Stancombe, Katie Stancombe & Connie Hornibrook.  Georgia Stancombe was awarded ‘Player of the Match’.

The U16s scheduled game at Stotfold in the EJA was postponed.

The U15s narrowly lost 0-1 in difficult conditions at Warboys Colts in the U15 Hunts County Cup.

The U14 lost 2-10 in the EJA at home to Stanway Rovers.

The U13s maintained their 100% record in the Royston Crow League with 4-1 victory at Manuden Juniors.

Weekend Round Up – 6 & 7 October

Saturday 6 October

The Ives bowed out of the FA Cup with a 0-3 defeat at former league side York City.

Sunday 7 October 

In the ERWFL Div 1 the Ladies first team drew 0-0 at Hoddesdon Town LFC and remain currently the only unbeaten team in the division. Georgia Stancombe was named the ‘Player of the Match’.

In the EJA the U16 secured a very well earned point with a 1-1 draw against Biggleswade Town. The U15 were awarded a walkover against Whitton United who were unable to play the game. The U14 lost 1-5 at Wroxham.

In the Hunts County Cup the U13 progressed to the 2nd round with a 5-0 victory at Park Farm Pumas (Red).

The Ladies 1st team completed a quick double in 2 succesive Sundays over Hertford Ladies to chalk up a 4-1 victory in the ERWFL Div 1. Sisters Katie & Georgia Stancombe got the goals with a brace a piece. Katie Stancombe was also awarded ‘Player of the Match’.

In the EJA League, the U16 exited the League Challenge Cup losing to a narrow 4-5 scoreline at Hitchin Town. The U15 won their Challenge Cup game with a 5-1 win at Haverhill Rovers. The U14 lost 1-3 at home to Newmarket Town in the Green Division.

In the Royston Crow Youth Football League the U13 recorded an impressive 11-1 win at Letchworth Garden City Eagles.

The U18s chalked up their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory at March Town United.

The first team drew 1-1 against Grantham Town in the 2nd Qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup and will have to do it all again in a replay at The Meres on Tuesday 25 September, 19:45 kick off.

Sunday 23 September

The Ladies 1st team progressed through to the 2nd round of the ERWFL league cup with a 5-0 win over Hertford LFC at WWR. The goals came from Georgia Stancombe x 2, Katie Stancombe, Hannah Seymour-Shove & Francesca Worrell.

For the 3rd week running the Ladies development team are involved In 5-2 score line, winning at home v Histon LFC res in group C of the Cambs league cup. Goalscorers – Jade Carpenter x 2, Connie Liddiard x 2 & Katherine Speed.

The U16s win 3-0 against Biggleswade Utd U16 in the EJA league.  2 goals on home debut for Adam and 1 for Josh W.

The U14 win with a convincing 11-0 scoreline in the Hunts County Cup at Somersham Town U14. Goalscorers – Bailey Kelly x 2, Harvey Keates x 2, Daniel Legg x 2, Alfie Baker x 2, Luke Dunn x 2 & Billy Chambers.

The U15 & U13 scheduled fixtures were postponed.

U18, Ladies & Colts – Round Up

Thursday 13 September

The U18s visited Deeping Rangers for a Thurlow Nunn Youth League fixture. Unfortunately they were on they slipped to a 6-0 defeat. Click here for the match report.

Sunday 16 September

The Ladies 1st team travelled to Histon Ladies in the ERWFL Div 1 and came away with a point in a 2-2 draw. The Ladies were 2 to the good at half time with goals from Tierney Coulson (also POM) and Hannah Seymour-Shove. Histon however, pulled level in the second half and the Ladies had to dig in to get a point at the end.

After suffering a 2-5 defeat last week the Ladies Development side enjoyed a 5-2 win at Isleham United Ladies in the in the Cambs South Div. The goals came from Lauren Gibson x2, Fran Worrall, Connie Liddiard & Jade Carpenter.

In the EJA League, the U16 lost by the odd goal in 9 at Takeley. The U15 recorded an excellent 4-3 win at AFC Sudbury. The U14 suffered a narrow 1-2 defeat at home to Needham Market.

In the Royston Crow League, the U13 game at home to Plantation Youth was postponed.
